Rebellion

You may think this is message isn’t of any importance to you, but it may very well be THE most important message of all.

~1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion [is as] the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness [is as] iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from [being] king.

Any time you have bad feelings stirring up inside of you toward your parents, it can result in rebellion. You can stop these feelings dead in their tracks by talking to God about those feelings. Read Psalms and Proverbs to help you through. There are so many Proverbs about a rebellious child and the results of being rebellious:

~Proverbs 4:14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil [men].

~Proverbs 30:17 The eye [that] mocketh at [his] father, and despiseth to obey [his] mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

~Proverbs 10:1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son [is] the heaviness of his mother.

~Proverbs 13:1 A wise son [heareth] his father’s instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.

There are much more verses but I think you get my point. God’s Word is what cleanses us and helps us through times when we want to sin.

If you are not getting along with your parents, there’s only one thing you can do and that is to ask the Lord to change YOU! You cannot change your parents – only God can. So take care of growing in the Lord by reading His Word and listening to what He tells you through your reading. Leave the rest to God!
