Acting Godly

~Romans 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to [fulfil] the lusts [thereof].

What does God’s grace do for you, teen girl? What is grace?

Appropriately, the free unmerited love and favor of God, the spring and source of all the benefits men receive from him. And if by grace, then it is no more of works. Rom 11.

Favorable influence of God; divine influence or the influence of the spirit, in renewing the heart and restraining from sin. My grace is sufficient for thee. 2 Cor 12.

The application of Christ’s righteousness to the sinner. Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound. Rom 5.

Does your life reflect the “favorable influence of God” in your life? Or do you act like the world and do ungodly things to impress your worldly friends? The things I see on Facebook, posted by supposedly saved Christian teen girls, totally do not reflect God’s grace in their lives 😥

So how do you develop a godly walk? First of all, you must stay away from friends who take you down the wrong path. If your friends are not saved, then stop hanging around them so much. They will influence you … don’t kid yourself, you will not influence them! The unsaved are not interested in Godly things, teen girl. They will, however, expose you to ungodliness.

The next thing is to get your nose into your Bible and read! Proverbs is a great place to start to learn what God considers to be Godly. 🙂

There is nothing more hypocritical than a person who says they are a Christian then they post things on Facebook that are sexual in nature or are curse words. 😦 This will not be a testimony for Jesus Christ to your unsaved friends. But acting Godly is definitely a good testimony. When your friends see that you are different, they will begin to ask questions. Don’t put yourself in a position where you have compromised and now your friends don’t care about God. You may be the only one who can witness to these friends – don’t blow your opportunities!
