Conforming

~Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Being like the rest of your friends is probably one of the most important things in your life. Am I right? That’s good if your friends are Godly friends who love the Lord Jesus Christ. But what if your friends are unsaved? How can you transform your mind when you are surrounded by unsaved friends who curse and are not concerned with Godly things? It’s so important that your closest friends be Godly friends, teen girl.

Conforming to this world means to love the things of this world that are not pleasing to God. For example, watching things on television that contain cursing and/or sexual content are not pleasing to God. You can try to justify it all you want but the Bible says:

~1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

The things of this world will bring pleasure for a very short time. They are not worth the spanking we get from the Lord for being disobedient. Ungodly music, movies, books, friends, etc. will only put trash in your head. This makes it really hard for you to think Godly things and do the right thing when all that trash is surrounding you. You can’t sit on the fence and do nothing. One side of your life will take over the other side. You’re either going to live for Christ or you’re going to live for the devil. It’s that plain and simple. The devil wants nothing more than to distract you away from the things of God.

But remember, Godly things have an eternal reward, teen girl. They are worth fighting for because eternity is a VERY long time 🙂
