Proverbs 15:6 In the house of the righteous [is] much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
When you’re doing all that you should be doing as a saved teen girl, don’t you feel as though your day is going great? What happens when you get off track and sin? Do you start feeling separated from God? Do things in your life start to go wrong? Sure they do!
If you leave this pattern unchecked, you are headed for much trouble.
Today’s Bible verse warns us what happens when we stray from the path. We are told that the “pay” for the wicked is trouble! In other words, payment for sin is always trouble. God will “spank” you, just as your parents did when you were younger. God’s spankings come in the form of ruining friendships, being grounded by your parents, bad grades at school, etc. No parent wants to punish their child – they do it to guide the child into obedience. God is the ultimate parent and desires the same thing for you.
The good thing is the first part of our verse 🙂 When you’re doing right, according to God’s Word, your life will be filled with treasure! Isn’t that wonderful? Why would you want anything different?
Psalm 119:9 BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed [thereto] according to thy word.
Psalm 119:105 NUN. Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Being out of God’s Word opens your life to sin but staying in God’s Word brightens your path and keeps you from sin.
