John 6:2 And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.

Do you only follow Jesus because of what you see, teen girl? I find that the younger a person is in Christ, the less faith they have on a day-to-day basis. Why is this?

It is by the Holy Scriptures that we are fed and grow. It is hearing the words preached and taught that help us to come to a saving knowledge of Christ, right? It is the same with growing after salvation.

Romans 10:17 So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

If you require signs or miracles that happen to others in order to “grow your faith,” then you are not pleasing God. In fact, it will take more signs and miracles to keep you walking the Christian walk. This is not walking by faith at all – it is putting your “faith” in the signs themselves. I hope that makes sense to you because it is an important message.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

God is ready to show you how real He is in your own life, teen girl. He wants to be given the opportunity to teach you through the Bible. He wants His Holy Spirit to mold you into the image of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. We know from the verse above that it is impossible to please God without faith in Him because it takes faith to be saved. It also takes faith to continue to live in Him – to live a holy life – to live a Godly life. Jesus’ righteousness clothes us and we should have the desire to live for Him.

Habakkuk 2:4 Behold, his soul [which] is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Galatians 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, [it is] evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster [to bring us] unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if [any man] draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Take time to nurture your faith by reading God’s Word every single day. Take time to allow the Holy Spirit to work in your heart to change you. Take time to talk to the Lord and let Him know your cares and difficulties. He stands ready to help you, teen girl! 🙂
