Lack of Discipline

Pro 5:23  He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.

Discipline takes work. A lazy person will never be disciplined because that means work. The only way to train yourself to be disciplined is to make up your mind, first of all, to do so. Everything starts in the heart, including sin. Is being undisciplined sin? It most certainly is if you never get a handle on it. You may be thinking that discipline comes with age but that isn’t necessarily true.

1) Helen Keller, at the age of 19 months, became deaf and blind. But that didn’t stop her. She was the first deaf and blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree.
2) Mozart was already competent on keyboard and violin; he composed from the age of 5.

God put you on this earth for a reason and it’s your job to find out what that reason is. First off, it’s everyone’s responsibility to spread the Gospel, amen? But not everyone is the same. We are all created with a special talent bestowed upon us by God Himself. I love to write so I try to reach out to others through my writing. What is yours? If you already know what your special talent is, what are you doing to better yourself? Maybe you want to be in the medical profession. Are you working hard at your studies? No one who is lazy has ever succeeded in studies, at least not to the extent God wants for that person.

Are you disciplined, teen girl? If not, how do you train yourself? You have to make up your mind that you want to be self disciplined. Pray about it and ask the Lord to help you with this task. In our example above, if your desire is to be in the medical field, study an extra half hour per day. Surround yourself with people who will encourage you and separate yourself from those who doubt you. Do not put your goals ahead of God, however. He should always come first!
